A New Chapter: Introducing Plant City History

Plant City Photo Archives, Inc., the award-winning institution that has served as the guardian of our community's visual history for years, is embarking on an exciting new journey. Recognizing the ever-evolving nature of historical preservation and our responsibility to document the multifaceted story of Plant City, we are thrilled to announce our transformation into Plant City History.

This new name signifies more than just a change in title; it represents a significant expansion of our mission and scope. While we remain deeply committed to preserving our extensive collection of over 100,000 historical photographs and documents—a visual treasure trove that chronicles the Greater Plant City Area, East Hillsborough, and West Central Florida—we are also broadening our horizons.

Plant City History will continue to be a beacon of accessibility, offering the public open access to our research library, historical photo archive, and educational events. However, we will now also actively seek out and preserve a wider range of historical materials, including oral histories, and documents that capture the essence of our community's past, present, and future.

We envision Plant City History as a dynamic hub where the stories of our community come alive. A place where researchers, students, and history enthusiasts can delve into the rich tapestry of our local heritage. A place where the voices and experiences of our residents, past and present, are honored and preserved for generations to come.

This transformation is not simply a rebranding; it is a reaffirmation of our dedication to serving as the stewards of Plant City's history. We invite you to join us on this exciting new chapter as we work together to ensure that the stories of our community are never forgotten.
